Amenities

  • Kitchen

    • The camp offers cooked breakfast daily during Burn week, including coffee and hot water

    • Coolers will be provided for donated breakfast food items. Personal food items must be stored in your own cooler.

    • The kitchen is available for campers to use to make their own food, including a blackstore, two-burner propane stoves, pots/pans/mixing bowls, and kitchen utensils. Campers must LNT after each use of kitchen.

    • Drinking water funded by dues is provided, up to two gallons per person per day, in an iced water cooler

  • Early entry (Setup Access Pass - SAP)

    • We offer early entry SAPs for those who would like to participate in Build week. You must enter Black Rock City by Thursday of Build week to receive a SAP. Burner Express bus riders do not need a SAP to arrive early.

    • Early arrivers should plan to serve one four-hour shift on the Temple perimeter and one half-day build session at camp each day, starting the day after they arrive and set up.

  • Sanitation

    • Our camp has its own private porta-potty, funded by dues

    • A semi-private shower is supplied at camp. This is a camp-style gravity bag shower over an evaporation pond. Our water allotment will NOT cover daily showers for all campers. We plan for two showers per camper. You will need to supply your own soaps, etc (desert-friendly/biodegradable preferred)

    • Gray water is collected in a tote funded by dues. Black water may not be dumped.

  • Shade and comfort

    • We have a large flat top shade for campers to pitch their own personal tent under

    • A shaded community hang out shelter area is located at the front of camp

  • Power

    • We have a solar-powered station to charge cell phones and other small electronics

  • Community building and orientation

    • Intermittent community zoom calls are hosted. These are completely optional, but they are a good place to ask questions and meet some of your fellow campers

    • There will be a mandatory pre-playa camp ops webinar with two different times to choose from to fit your schedule

    • On the first Monday of burn week, at 5pm on 8/31, we will have a mandatory all-hands camp acculturation meeting. This is where you will meet all your camp mates, get a hands-on tour of camp infrastructure, and get the final word on how shifts will work, with time for questions and an open floor for ideas and suggestions.

  • New offerings this year

    • We will have a snack donation box in case you wanted to donate something to your fellow campmates

    • Boot scraping station - IYKYK

    • Some campers have indicated that they’d like to share their healing or community gifts. If you want to get involved, let us know and we’ll help you bring your ideas to life on playa!

Individual Responsibilities

  • Shifts and supply donations

    • In our camper portal you can find the camp manual, shift descriptions, supply sign-up sheet, and other general Burning Man info/guides. The password is guardiansarerockstars

    • In the Shift Signup and Camp Supplies link, there are three tabs: Camp Shift Sign Up, Shift Explanations, and Supply Donations

      • Please sign up for camp shifts. Campers are required to sign up for at least two shifts in camp during their stay - many hands make light work!

      • Camp shifts are NOT the length of Temple shifts! We’re not trying to eat up all your time :)

      • Where possible, please sign up to bring some items from the Supply Donation tab. Food items from this list will be stored in the kitchen cooler. We love when our campers try to be a solid part of our camp community!

      • We are getting information from some of our campers about things they would like to gift, and that information will be made available before Burn as well. If you have something you would like to bring to our camp community, please let Mayor Gretchen know!

  • LNT

    • All campers are responsible for their own personal area LNT and kitchen cleanup if they cook their own food

  • Camp dues

    • $250 per camper, nonrefundable after Friday July 3, covering major services and amenities including portos, potable water, and graywater collection

  • Temple Guardian volunteer requirement

    • You will be required to sign up for Temple Guardian training and three Temple Guardian shifts during Burn week, as we are a Temple Guardian volunteer support camp

    • SAP recipients must sign up for one four-hour Temple Perimeter shift and participate in one half-day camp build session, each day starting the day after arrival on playa
